Sitting right in the middle of the Hocking Hills region, the starting point for some of the best outdoor and hands-on activities in southeastern Ohio, there are endless things to do in Logan, Ohio. Most visitors just drive through Logan on their way to the state parks, but the town and surrounding area have a full day’s worth of activities on their own. Our farm is located right on OH-664, just minutes from downtown, and it is one of the most popular stops in the area.
You could easily fill a whole weekend here with a farm visit, a canoe trip on the Hocking River, a cave hike, and dinner downtown.
Stop at a Farm and Petting Zoo
Our petting zoo is open weekends through October 25. Visitors spend anywhere from one to three hours here. You can pet, brush, and feed our goats, alpacas, donkeys, cows, sheep, pigs, and horses. Admission is $7 per person for ages 2 and up, and children under 2 get in free. No reservation is needed.
While you are here, try gem mining at our outdoor sluice. You start by picking a bag of mining rough (starting at $10) and pouring it into the sluice, then sift it through the water to find gemstones, fossils, and even shark teeth! Our most popular bag is the Mother Lode at $30 for 10 pounds.
People rate us 4.8 out of 5 stars across more than 500 Google reviews. Guests come back year after year, and many tell us the farm is the highlight of their trip.

Paddle the Hocking River
Our family also runs Hocking Hills Canoe Livery, a few minutes from the farm on OH-664. You can rent a canoe, kayak, or raft and float the Hocking River at your own pace. Every trip is self-guided.
Trip A covers 5 miles and takes about 2 hours, so it works well for families with young kids. Trip B runs 7 miles in 3 to 4 hours and passes Natural Rockbridge. Paddlers need to be at least 3 years old.
Fall rentals run through October 17, and the river opens again in April. On a fall weekend, you can paddle Trip A in the morning and spend the afternoon with our animals.
