We’re located at 14977 OH-664, Logan, OH 43138, in the heart of Hocking Hills. Unlike farms that keep the animals behind fences, we give you direct contact with every animal on the property. It’s fun for the whole family, and kids love getting close to the alpacas.

What Makes Our Alpaca Farm Different

Most alpaca farms in Ohio focus on fiber sales, breeding, or farm store products. Fox’s High Rock Farm is built around the experience of visiting and spending time with the animals. You walk into our pasture, and the alpacas come to you. They’re used to people, and our staff is on hand to help you interact with them safely.

Our animals include named alpacas that each have their own personality. Some are more social and will approach you for attention, and you can rub their belly or offer a treat. Others are a little more cautious but still enjoy being brushed. You’ll also meet our goats (who are constantly looking for a snack), our cows, and our pig.

Admission to the petting zoo is $7 per person for ages 2 and up. Kids under 2 get in free, and no reservation is needed for a regular stop.

Beyond the Alpacas

While the alpacas are a big draw, there’s more to do at the farm. Our gem mining sluice lets you pan for polished stones and crystals. You pick a bag of mining rough (starting at $10 for a 3 lb bag, up to $60 for 20 lbs), pour it into the sluice, and sift to find your treasures. The Mother Lode bag (10 lbs, $30) is the most popular choice.

We also have a gift shop with locally made products and souvenirs. Most families and groups spend one to two hours at the farm between the animals, gem mining, and browsing through the shop.

Private Encounters in the Off-Season

After October 25, regular petting zoo hours end for the year. But you can still see the alpacas and our other animals by booking a private tour. Private tours run from November to March and are available for small groups, usually on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Tours last up to 90 minutes, and pricing starts at $150 for up to 6 guests ($170 for 7, $190 for 8). You get a guided, personal experience with the animals, plus 15% off in our gift shop after the tour. This is a good option for a birthday, anniversary, or holiday outing.

Our Christmas on the Farm events on November 28 and December 12 are another way to enjoy farm life during the winter. Both are ticketed events with seasonal activities on the property.
